The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team was in Decorah on Friday night for a Northeast Iowa Conference match-up with the Vikings.  Trailing 2-1 heading into the sixth inning, the Chickasaws scored two runs in the sixth and added an insurance run in the seventh to walk away with a 4-2 victory.  Josh Fenske led the New Hampton offense with three hits, including two doubles and two RBI and Aden Zwanziger had two runs batted in as well.  Zwanziger was also the winning pitcher as he threw the complete game, gave up the two runs on six hits and struck out one.  The Chickasaw baseball team improves to 17-3 overall this season and they move their NEIC record to 8-2.  They will be in action again tonight at home against Crestwood.  You can tune into this game right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-game at about 7:15 and first pitch will be at about 7:30.

The New Hampton Chickasaw softball team had a successful weekend as they went 4-0.  On Friday night, they shut-out South Winneshiek 5-0.  Kayla Crooks had three hits and three runs batted in to lead the New Hampton offense and Savannah Anderson pitched the complete game, earning the win as she gave up just two hits and struck out three.  On Saturday, the Chickasaws hosted a tournament and got a 9-3 win over Turkey Valley, beat Denver 8-3 and shut-out Nashua-Plainfield 10-0.  The four wins gives the New Hampton softball team ten wins in a row now and they are now 17-5 overall.  New Hampton softball will return to Northeast Iowa Conference play tonight with a home game against Crestwood.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky softball team went 2-1 this weekend as they defeated Belmond-Klemme in a Top of Iowa Conference game on Friday 4-3 at home.  They then split a pair of games in New Hampton on Saturday as they beat Turkey Valley 10-8 and lost to New Hampton 8-0.  The Husky softball team is now 6-11 overall this season and they will play again tonight at Osage.

The Nashua-Plainfield baseball team was shut out on Friday night in their Top of Iowa Conference home game against Belmond-Klemme.  The final score was 4-0.  The Nashua baseball team is now 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the conference.  They will be at Osage tonight as well.

The Turkey Valley Trojan softball team went 0-3 at the New Hampton tournament on Saturday.  As mentioned before, they lost to New Hampton 9-3, were beaten by Nashua 10-8 and then lost to Denver 14-2.  The Trojan softball team falls to 6-12 overall this season and they will be in an Upper Iowa Conference road double-header tonight at Starmont.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball team was very busy this weekend as they played at Denver Friday night for a North Iowa Cedar League double-header and then had three games at a tournament in Waverly on Saturday.  On Friday night, the Cougars were able to sweep the Cyclones as they won the first game 16-8 and then completed the sweep with an 18-4 win in five innings.  On Saturday, Sumner-Fred beat Iowa Falls-Alden 6-1 and were defeated by Cedar Falls 6-4 and Waverly-Shell Rock 6-1 to finish up 3-2 on the weekend.  The Cougar softball team is now 15-11 overall this season and they are 7-5 in the NICL.  Their next action will be Wednesday night when they host Wapsie Valley in a double-header.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar baseball team was in Denver on Friday night for a North Iowa Cedar League double-header.  The Cougars lost the first game 15-5 in five innings and then dropped game two 19-9 in six innings.  The Sumner-Fred baseball team is now 5-12 overall and 2-11 in the NICL.  They will play at home against Wapsie Valley in a double-header on Wednesday night for their next action.
