Update: Lock-down lifted at North Butler High School

Update: 11:20am – The lock-down at North Butler Jr. / Sr. High School has been lifted.

According to North Butler Superintendent Joel Foster: “The school was made aware of a possible outside threat to the building by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at around 10:30 this morning. The building was immediately placed in lock-down to restrict access, and all students’ who were working outside were brought into the building. Within minutes, a deputy from the sheriff’s department arrived on scene as an extra precaution. Sheriff Johnson and his team quickly located the subject, which allowed us to go back to normal function within about a forty-minute time span. The safety of our students and staff are our highest priority.”

Greene, Iowa – The North Butler Jr./Sr. High School in Greene is on lock-down due to a potential outside threat.

In an email to parents Wednesday morning, the schools states that the safety for the students is their main concern so they are taking the threat seriously.

Butler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the threat and is making contact with the individual at this time.
