951 The Bull Sports Report (5/23)

The Turkey Valley Trojan baseball team opened up their season last night at Wapsie Valley.  The Trojans struck first with two runs in the top of the third inning.  Wapsie Valley would tie the score at two with a couple of runs in the bottom of the fourth.  The score would remain tied until Wapsie Valley was able to push across five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Trojans would get one in the top of the seventh, but the game ended with Turkey Valley on the losing end of a 7-3 score.  The Trojan baseball team begins their season with an 0-1 record and they will be in action again tonight as they will be at MFL-Mar-Mac for an Upper Iowa Conference contest.  The Turkey Valley Trojan softball team will have their season opener tonight at home.  They will take on a Charles City Comet team who has started the season 2-0.  First pitch for the softball game will be at 6pm and first pitch for the baseball game will be at 7pm.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball team kicked off their season last night with a North Iowa Cedar League double-header at Jesup.  The Cougars dropped both games of the double-header as they were beaten 9-5 in the first game and then lost 5-3 in game two.  Sumner-Fred softball begins the season at 0-2 and they will look for their first win on Saturday when they play in a tournament hosted by Jesup.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar baseball team was also in Jesup last night to start their season with an NICL double-header.  Like the girls, the Cougars were on the losing end of both games as Jesup won game one 5-1 and then took game two 8-4.  The Sumner-Fred baseball team starts the year 0-2 and they will play again tomorrow night at Oelwein.

The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team will be in Clear Lake tonight for a non-conference game.  The Chickasaws are 1-0 this season and Clear Lake is 1-1.  First pitch for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7pm.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky baseball and softball teams will be at home tonight for JV/Varsity double-headers against West Hancock.  This will be the first game for the Husky baseball team while West Hancock comes in at 1-0.  This is also the first game for the Nashua softball team and West Hancock is 0-1.  Both Varsity contests are scheduled to start at 6pm.
