951 The Bull Sports Report (5/18)

The 2018 Iowa girls and boys State Track and Field Meet began yesterday at the Blue Oval in Des Moines.  New Hampton’s Olyvia Burke finished her 3000 meter run in a time of 11 minutes and 55 seconds which placed her 18th in Class 2A, Rachel Rinken had a jump of 17 feet and two inches in the long jump which placed her fourth and earned five points in the team race for the Chickasaws.  The team of Maddie Usher, Lydia Gessner, Kallie Olson and Maddi Moorman finished the 4×800 in a time of 10 minutes and 24 seconds which placed them 16th overall.  The Chickasaw girls will have the Distance Medley, 4×400, Claire Quirk in the 400 meter hurdles, Maddie Usher in the high jump, and Maddie Usher in the 800 meters still to come.  On the boys side for the Chickasaws, Noah Fenske had a throw of 55 feet and eight inches yesterday which gave him a third place finish at this year’s State Meet and 6 team points for New Hampton and Keagan John ran a 51.34 400 meters yesterday to finish in 15th place for the Chickasaws.  New Hampton will have Brayden Fisher in the 400 meter hurdles and the Distance Medley Relay today and then Keagan John will run in the 800 meters tomorrow.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls 4×800 meter relay team of Kylie Laube, Faith Carpenter, Kaylee Cerwinske and Emma Sinnwell finished their race in 10 minutes and 34 seconds which placed them 17th in the event.  The Husky boys 4×800 team of Isaac Chambers, Dayton Hansen, Ike Sinnwell and Luke Cerwinske finished with a time of 8 minutes and 46 seconds which put them in 23rd place.  Nashua still has their girls Distance Medley, the boys Sprint Medley, and Dayton Hanson to run in the 800 meters at this years meet.

The Turkey Valley boys 4×800 meter relay team of Jordon Snyder, Eli Nymeyer, Zac Gillan, and Elliott Dietzenbach finished their race in a time of 8 minutes and 36 seconds which placed them 18th yesterday.  The Trojans still have plenty of events still to come including Kassidy Reicks in the discus, Kyle Langrecj in the 110 meter hurdles, Luke Anderson in the discus, the boys Distance Medley, and the boys 4×400 today and then Jordon Snyder in the 1600 meter run tomorrow.
