Postville teen is dead following Tuesday night crash

Postville, Iowa – A Postville teen is dead following a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday night.

According to the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Scott Schara was heading east on Yellow River Drive, about a half mile east of W-60, when he left the roadway and hit a tree.

The report says Schara was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation.

Agencies assisting at the scene included the Postville Police, Fire and Ambulance, Gunderson Lutheran Air Ambulance and Veterans Memorial Ambulance.
