Charles City, Iowa – The Iowa Association of Alternative Education recently named Charles City teacher Josh Dean as Teacher of the Year.

Superintendent Dan Cox explains.

In other district news, the Board of Education is making progress on searching for a new superintendent.

That survey can be found on the website, charlescityschools.org.  Applications for the new superintendent will be accepted until April 29th, with a review of candidates in the early part of May and final interviews conducted on May 16th.

This Friday, April 20th will be a development day for staff so there will be no school for students. And, residents of Charles City should not become alarmed when they see extra law enforcement at the schools on Friday.

Once again, residents of the school district are asked to fill out the survey regarding a new superintendent of the schools on the school website, charlescityschools.org.
