Cedar Falls, Iowa – A Charles City man was involved in a crash in Cedar Falls at around 8am Wednesday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 48-year-old Mark Hagen of North Liberty was eastbound on University Avenue, near Heart and Union Road, when he reportedly crossed the center line and crashed head on into a westbound semi operated by 69-year-old Steven Hatcher of Charles City.

The report says Hagen was injured and transported to Sartori Hospital.  Troopers say Hagen’s life was saved by wearing his seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
