Osage, Iowa – A Fort Dodge man has been arrested and charged with second-degree theft, felony eluding and operating while intoxicated after he led law enforcement on a high speed chase with speeds near 100 miles per hour.
According to a press release from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s office, Benjamin Lee Foster, 37, was located by a deputy shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning on Hwy 9, west of Osage. Foster did not stop when the sheriff deputy tried to pull him over, which then led to the high speed chase that reached 98 mph. The pursuit continued into Osage where it ended at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Chestnut Street.
Foster, who was fleeing in a stolen vehicle, was wanted in Webster County for first-degree robbery and in Hamilton County for probation violations, according to the release.
The Osage Police department assisted with Foster’s arrest.
