New Hampton, IA – An eighth-grade class at New Hampton Middle School recently did a project that allowed for students to learn stories from the Holocaust.
Jason Rude was teacher for this class. The students had to prepare speeches to tell these stories. The title of the project was “Voice for the Voiceless”. One student in the class says more about the project.
Two of the students say what some of the stories they found were about.
One student says that she had difficulty deciding which stories that she was going to tell.
And one of the big lessons that a student took away was to talk to their grandparents.
Some of the characters that the speeches were based on were made up, but most of them were based off of real people. The stories from the Holocaust need to be told so today’s youth are helping relay the message.
