CCPD Responds to Cars Accidents on Friday

Charles City, IA – Charles City Police responded to two car accidents on Friday.

The first crash took place in a parking lot at 12:08 p.m. in the 500 block of Allison St. 69-year-old Richard Wilhm of Marble Rock was driving his Chevy van when he would strike 56-year-old Tamara Elthon of Charles City who was driving a Chevy Trailblazer. Around $500 in damage was done.

The next accident would happen at the intersection of Highway 18 and Gilbert St. 29-year-old Cara Heffron of Charles City fled the scene of the accident after she had struck a GMC Canyon that was driven by 34-year-old Jason Waddell of Charles City. Heffron was arrested and charged with an OWI, driving while suspended and fleeing the scene of an accident. This took place at 10:15 p.m.
