Four Chickasaws Earn All-NEIC Basketball Honors

The Northeast Iowa Conference recently released its All-Conference honors for boys and girls basketball and numerous New Hampton Chickasaws were honored.

On the boys side, Keagan John was selected to the First Team.  John was third in the conference in scoring with over 17 and a half points per game, was second in the NEIC in rebounding with over eight per game and led the conference in steals with close to two and a half per game.

Jake Zwanziger earned Second Team honors as he finished the conference season with over 14 points per game which was fifth best, grabbed over five rebounds per game and made a team high 25 three pointers.

The Chickasaws finished the NEIC season with a record of 4-8 which earned them fifth place.

For the girls, Isabel Leichtman was a First Team selection.  Leicthman was third in the conference in scoring with over 14 points per game, was second in the conference with almost three steals per game and was fourth in the NEIC by making 79% of her free throws.

Lauren Frerichs earned an Honorable Mention as she led the conference with three and a half steals per game, was in the top ten in three point percentage by making close to a third of her treys and finished the conference scheduled with four and a half points per game.

The New Hampton girls went 5-7 in conference play which put them in a tie for fourth.  Congratulations to the four Chickasaws who earned post-season honors from the Northeast Iowa Conference.
