Floyd County, IA – The snow is melting, and gravel roads are starting to thaw out. This leaves the condition of those roads in poor shape. The gravel is soft and can get tore up easily.
Dusty Rolando, Floyd County’s Engineer, says what the conditions are of the gravel roads in Floyd County.
He says that people hauling on these roads should try to do it when the temperature is a little cooler.
County workers cannot do much right now as they are stuck in no man’s land.
Spring is a few weeks away. A dry March will help improve on these road conditions, but for now, the sloppy mess on gravel roads will continue.
