Multiple School Districts in Iowa Receive Threats

Iowa – A school shooting took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida about two weeks ago. Multiple people lost their lives in this shooting, and schools in Iowa are starting to proceed with caution when threats are made.

Two schools in Iowa received threats that something could happen last week. The first instance came from the Riceville Community School District. Classes were cancelled on Thursday following a threat that students had brought to the school’s attention. An investigation is taking place and the belief is that a former student of the school was the person who had issued the threat.

The Dubuque Community School District would cancel classes on Friday due to another threat. There were widespread reports on social media referring to this threat. The school district and the authorities were unable to confirm the creditability of the source, and the district says they cancelled classes out of caution.
