The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union also continued their Basketball Regional Tournaments last night in Classes 1A and 2A.  The Nashua-Plainfield Husky girls basketball team was in Jesup for their Class 2A Region 3 Quarter-Final.  The Nashua girls fell behind early as they found themselves trailing 35-14 at halftime and could not climb out of that hole as they lost the game 61-37.  The Huskies finish their season with a record of 3-20.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team hosted West Central Maynard last night in a Class 1A Region 2 Quarter-Final.  The Trojans were able to advance to the Regional Semi-Finals after winning last night’s game by a final score of 54-42.  The Turkey Valley girls improve to 14-9 overall this season and will play in that Semi-Final on Friday night at Kee High.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls basketball team played in their Class 2A Region 4 Quarter-Final in Delhi last night against Maquoketa Valley.  The game was back-and-forth all night long and was tied at 47 heading into the fourth.  The Cougars were able to win the fourth 15-13 to walk away with a 62-60 win.  Cassidy Pagel had 18 points to lead Sumner-Fred, Krayton Allen had 17 and Macy Niewohner scored 13.  The Cougar girls improve to 20-2 on the season and they will have a Regional Semi-Final match-up on Friday night against Bellevue in Dyersville.

The South Winneshiek Warrior girls basketball team saw their season come to a close last night as they were defeated in a Class 2A Region 4 Quarter-Final at MFL-Mar-Mac.  The final score was 62-39 as the Warrior girls end their season with a record of 10-11.

The girls basketball postseason continues tonight with Classes 3A, 4A and 5A holding Regional match-ups.  The New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team will be in Osage for their Class 3A Region 3 Semi-Final.  The Chickasaw girls come in with an overall record of 12-10 while the Osage girls are ranked in the top five and are a perfect 22-0 coming into the game.  Tip-off for this game will be at 7pm

The Iowa High School Athletic Association will begin its State Wrestling Tournament today with All Classes holding State Duals.  The New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team is the top seed in the Class 2A Tournament and will take on eight-seed Webster City in the first round.  You can tune into that match right here 951 The Bull today starting with a pre-meet at 10:45 and the match will begin at 11.
