The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union will begin its basketball postseason tonight with Class 1A holding its opening round games. The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team will open-up the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at home tonight against Riceville. The Trojan girls come in with an overall record of 12-9 while the Wildcat girls have an overall record of 5-15. Tip-off from Jackson Junction will be at 7pm.
The South Winneshiek Warrior boys basketball team will be in Waukon tonight for a non-conference match-up with the Indians. The Warrior boys are 13-7 overall this season while the Waukon boys are 11-8. Tip-off for the Varsity game is scheduled for 7:30.
In a game heard on our sister station KCHA last night, the Iowa State Cyclone Men’s Basketball Team was in a Big 12 match-up at Texas Tech. Iowa State’s lack of depth showed late as the Cyclones ran out of gas in a 76-58 loss to the seventh ranked Red Raiders. Cam Lard scored 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting but it was not enough as the Cyclones fell to 3-8 in the Big 12.

Lindell Wigginton added 13 points as the Cyclones drop to 12-11 overall. They will return to the court on Saturday when they host Oklahoma at Hilton Coliseum.
