The University of Northern Iowa Men’s Basketball team took command with a 25-0 run in the opening half in an 83-72 win over Illinois State.
That’s UNI head Men’s Basketball coach Ben Jacobson. The Panthers played well on both ends of the court and led 41-19 at halftime.
The Panthers will be in search of their first road victory Sunday at Valley leader Loyola.
UNI is 3-6 in the Valley.
Loyola used a 18-1 run late in the second half to blow the game open in an 80-57 win over the Drake Men’s Basketball team, handing the Bulldogs their first home loss and knocking them out of first place in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Drake head Men’s Basketball coach Niko Medved. The Bulldogs close the first half of the league race with a record of 6-3.
Graham Woodward led Drake with 14 points as the Bulldogs made only four three-pointers in the game.
