Funeral services for Bert Scott, 92, of Greene, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene with Pastor Daniel Flucke officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Roberta was born in Charles City, Iowa on October 14, 1925 to George William and Helen Marie Pfefferkorn Immel and passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Valley View Care Center in Greene, Iowa.

Upon graduating from Charles City High School in 1943, she became a photo finisher and worked for two years at the Peerless Photo Finishing Co. in Charles City, a job that she loved and excelled at due to her astute attention to detail and artistic ability. After marrying Clar Bane Scott on November 11, 1945 in Charles City, they settled in Greene, Iowa, eventually building their lifelong family home in 1951.

Roberta was a fantastic cook and baker, hosting countless holiday gatherings over the decades at her home. She also was an avid bowler and bird watcher, passionately followed Iowa Hawkeye football, and loved her exercise classes. Roberta always had a pot of coffee on for her friends and family. A longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene, she assisted with Bible school and was a former member of the Lutheran Ladies Circle.

A talented homemaker, Roberta is survived by her two daughters, Penny Jacoby of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Debra (Les) Steere of Greene, Iowa. In addition, she is also survived by her brother, Robert Immel of Bluegrass, Iowa; three grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Butzlaff of Des Peres, Missouri, Ronnie Butzlaff of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Cindy Jacoby of St. Louis, Missouri; two great-granddaughters, Margaret Butzlaff of Kirkwood, Missouri and Claire Butzlaff of Des Peres, Missouri; two step great-granddaughters, Anna Blasberg of Columbia, Missouri and Paige Blasberg of Honolulu, Hawaii; nieces Valerie Bowman of Iowa City, Iowa, Diane Immel of Bluegrass, Iowa, and Sue Cruchellow of Bluegrass, Iowa; and close family friend Don Butzlaff of Lake Ozark, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clar Bane Scott, sister-in-law Virginia Immel, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Frances “Lefty” Bowman, and brother-in-law Clell Scott.
