Two Drug Busts in Cresco in December

Cresco, IA – A couple of drug busts took place in Cresco in December. This resulted in seven people receiving charges.

The first bust happened on Dec. 8 at a home on North Elm St. 47-year-old Lisa Ragon and 21-year-old Steven Geerts were charged with gathering where controlled substances are used, maintaining premises for drug use, possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of prescription drug without a prescription.

They were charged after a search warrant was executed on the home and are pleading not guilty to their charges. Their trial date is set for May 9.

Another bust took place on Dec. 12. on Elm St. Five people were taken into custody following the search. 43-year-old Lance Souhrada, 42-year-old Kristie Cobban, 30-year-old Michael Walters, 58-David Gaul and 18-year-old Billie Hageman were all taken into custody and have charges filed against them.

Walters was charged with and has pled not guilty to gathering with controlled substances where they are used, maintaining premises for drug use, possession of meth, and six counts of possession of a prescription drug without a prescription. His trial date is set for March 7.

Cobban and Souhrada have pled not guilty to gathering where drugs are used, possession with intent to deliver meth and maintaining premises for drug use. Their trial dates are May 9.

Gaul has entered not guilty pleas to possession of meth, gathering where drugs are used and maintaining premises for drug use. A trial date is not yet set for him.

Hageman was the final person charged. He received charges for gathering where drugs are used, maintaining premises for drug use, possession of meth and five counts of possession of a prescription drug without a prescription. Hageman has not entered a plea yet.
