The New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team hosted a marquee event last night that saw them participate in three quality duals that brought in NEIC opponents Crestwood and Waverly-Shell Rock and then nationally ranked Staley, Missouri. In the first dual, the Chickasaws defeated Crestwood 48-23. They then went on to beat Waverly 49-22 and then they knocked off Staley 35-30 to complete the night 3-0. With those three wins, the Chickasaw grapplers are 16-1 overall in dual meets and they are now 5-0 in NEIC duals. The New Hampton wrestlers will be back in action tomorrow when they participate in a tournament hosted by Iowa City West.
The New Hampton Chickasaw boys basketball team will be at home tonight for a Northeast Iowa Conference match-up with Oelwein. The Chickasaws are 5-5 overall this season and they will be in search of their first NEIC win as they sit at 0-4 in conference play. The Oelwein boys are 1-7 overall and they are also 0-4 in the NEIC. You can tune into this game tonight right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-game at about 7:30 and tip-off is scheduled for 7:45.
The New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team will be in Oelwein tonight for their Northeast Iowa Conference match-up with the Huskies. The New Hampton girls are 7-4 overall this season and they are 2-3 in the NEIC while the Oelwein girls are 3-6 and 1-3. Tip-off for the Varsity game is scheduled for 7:30.
The Nashua-Plainfield girls and boys basketball teams will host West Fork tonight in Top of Iowa Conference action. After their loss to Central Springs last night, the Nashua girls are 1-10 overall this season and 0-7 in the conference while the West Fork girls come in at 6-3 and 5-2. The Husky boys beat the Panthers last night and are 6-4 overall this season and 4-3 in league play. The Warrior boys come in at 5-4 and 4-3. The girls game will tip-off at 6:15 and the boys game will follow.
