Man Receives Multiple Charges over the Weekend for Huffing

Mason City, IA – A Mason City man was caught huffing and driving impaired over the weekend. He is now being held on in jail.

38-year-old Robert McFarland had run ins with authorities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. He was caught inhaling toxic vapors from a can of air duster on Friday.

McFarland was next caught on Saturday in the bathroom at Target inhaling some more air duster. He resisted arrest on this occasion. He did not come out of the bathroom when authorities requested he do so.

He was caught huffing aerosol cans Sunday in Wal-Mart’s parking lot. McFarland would flee the scene before passing out in a mobile home park.

He has been charged with operating while under the influence and interference with official acts. A court date has not been set yet.

McFarland is being held on a $2,000 bond in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
