Charles City, IA – The Charles City baseball and softball diamonds have been subject to flooding over the years. The fields sustained damage from the flooding, but the school district is starting to talk about a new athletic complex that would fix this problem.
Tyler Downing is the current baseball coach. He has also played on this field and he says what problems this diamond has.
Todd Forsyth, the school’s athletic director, says that not being able to have some home games has affected many teams financially.
People can help by spreading the word and getting the conversation started. They can also donate money to help with the fundraising.
Forsyth says that this has been a work in process for about a decade.
