Floyd County Board of Supervisors Notes

Charles City, IA – The Floyd County Board of Supervisors held their bi-monthly meeting where motions are made on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

A public hearing was held for the rezoning of property to make way for a small subdivision that just clips Charles City’s city limits. Lonnie West had submitted the application for this request. The total amount of land is 3.99 acres. A house and shed will be built on the land. The construction had already started before West realized that this would clip the two-mile line that surrounds Charles City.

The board didn’t for see this being an issue, but city officials will look at it to determine. This was the first reading, so the board decided to make their gathering next Monday night a “special meeting”. The second reading will be held then.

One of the bigger deliberations at the meeting was involving health care for county employees. The ultimate decision made was to continue with Wellmark, EBS and Delta Dental.
