Nashua, IA – An investigation has taken place after a child was seriously injured at an orchard outside of Nashua on Sunday.

The child was taken to the hospital in Waverly and flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals.

A post by Apples on the Avenue on Facebook announced the accident. Two nearby attractions also made announcements on Facebook. A nearby shooting range said that it was closed, and the Nashua Fish and Game Club announced that they would be closed until further notice.

On Monday, it was released that a stray bullet had struck an 8-year-old boy. The orchard says they have never had this problem and are calling it a freak accident.
