Suspects Arrested in Mason City Burglaries

Mason City, IA – Two people from Rudd are facing felony charges after they were charged with stealing items earlier in September.

32-year-old Jamie Nicholson and 30-year-old Thomas Kerlin, both from Rudd, were arrested Thursday night and charged with first-degree theft which is a felony charge. They allegedly stole $10,000 worth of items from a home in Mason City on Sept. 3 and 5.

The items stolen were clothing, jewelry and more. Some of the stolen objects have been returned. Kerlin attempted to elude police by hiding under a neighbor’s porch. He also received possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts charges.

The arrests were made around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
