One Charles City business robbed; one broken into over the weekend

Charles City, Iowa – Sunday was a busy day for the Charles City Police as there were several disturbances that were reported to them.

The first instance happened early on Sunday morning when police responded to a call of an armed robbery at Rush Stop in the 600 block of South Main Street. The masked gunman took $600 in cash and there were no injuries reported.

A few hours later, the CCPD took a report of a burglary where $150 in cash was stolen. This incident occurred at Quality Auto Service in the 1400 block of Gilbert Street around 6 a.m. There was an estimated $1,500 in damage done to the building.

The final report came for a single vehicle accident that happened at the intersection of Riverside Drive and North Illinois Avenue. The driver of the car was 82-year-old Phyllis Stock of Charles City. She was driving her Buick Lucerne when she bumped into a light post. An estimated $500 in damage was done to the vehicle.
