951 The Bull Sports Report (8/31)

With no local sports on the schedule last night, we begin today’s report with a look at the area sports calendar for tonight.  The Nashua-Plainfield Husky volleyball team will be in Top of Iowa Conference action tonight on the road as they will travel to Mason City to take on the Newman Knights.  Nashua volleyball comes in with an overall record of 2-1 and they are 2-0 in conference play while Newman is 0-2 both overall and in league play.  First serve in the Varsity match is set for 7pm.

The Turkey Valley Trojan volleyball team will open up their Upper Iowa Conference season tonight with a road match against Clayton Ridge.  The Trojans are 0-2 overall this season while Clayton Ridge is 2-5 and they are 0-1 in conference action.  First serve is scheduled for 7pm.

The South Winneshiek Warrior volleyball team will host West Central tonight in an Upper Iowa Conference contest.  The Warriors are 1-2 overall this season and West Central comes in at 0-2.  This will be the first conference action for both teams.  The Varsity match will start at 6:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield and South Winneshiek girls and boys cross country teams will be in Charles City tonight for some competition.  The meet take place at the Wildwood Golf Course and will begin with the Middle School races at 4:15.  There will also be JV races and the girls Varsity meet will begin at around 6:30 with the boys Varsity race to follow.

The Turkey Valley and Sumner-Fredericksburg girls and boys cross teams will run at the Tri City Golf Club tonight in Luana.  The meet will begin at 5pm with the Varsity girls meet set to start around 6:15 and the Varsity boys meet will follow.
