String of Burglaries Leads to Arrests in Bremer County

West Union, Iowa – Three Saturday night burglaries led to the arrest of three people in Bremer County. The Plainfield Veterinary Clinic and Cliff’s Place in Horton were burglarized early on Saturday night, and later on that same night, the Hawk’s Nest Café in Frederika was also broken in to.

Police officers arrived at the Hawk’s Nest Café when the burglary was going on. Two of the criminals got away, but 18-year-old Johanna Rommann of Oelwein was located and placed under arrest.

The two other burglars were located hours later in Oelwein. 21-year-old Jason Cole and a 15-year-old juvenile were also arrested.

Rommann was charged with third degree burglary which is a class D felony while Cole is now being held at the Fayette County Jail for a list of similar crimes in that county as well. The 15-year-old was sent to juvenile court on three counts of third degree burglary.
