Hazardous Materials Found in New Hampton

On July 25th at 11:30 pm, two containers of hazardous materials were found in New Hampton. Emergency crews responded quickly to the 400 block of East Main Street.

The spill was contained by a berm that the emergency crews had built. The New Hampton Fire Department assisted in cleaning the spill up.

The portion of Main Street between Bigelow Avenue and Pleasant Hill Avenue was rerouted for a little while.

The New Hampton Police Department, New Hampton Fire Department, Chickasaw County Rescue Squad, Chickasaw County Emergency Management, Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office, and Chickasaw Ambulance Service were all dispatched to the spill.
