The Nashua-Plainfield Husky baseball team ended their regular season on a high note last night as they picked up their first win of the season at Clarksville. The Huskies shutout the Indians 7-0 behind excellent pitching performances by Mason Hyde and Levi Enright. Hyde went five innings, gave up three hits, and struck out six while Enright threw the final two innings without giving up a hit. He also had two hits and two RBIs. Blaine Bilharz and Michael Stille also drove in a pair of runs for Nashua. The Huskies finish their regular season with a record of 1-19 and they will play in a Class 1A District Quarter-Final at Kee High on Tuesday.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar baseball team finished up their regular season last night with a North Iowa Cedar League game at home against Union-LaPorte City. The Cougars trailed throughout the game by as much as five runs. Things got close with a three run sixth inning, but they could not get ahead as they lost the game 10-8. Ethan Wood led the Cougar offense with three hits, a run scored, and four RBIs. Sam Fox had two doubles and three runs scored. The Sumner-Fred baseball team will enter the postseason with a record of 1-26 and will play in a Class 2A District 5 Quarter-Final tomorrow night at Central Springs.

The South Winneshiek Warrior baseball team was in non-conference action last night as they were at home to take on Waukon. The Warriors trailed 7-4 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, but then scored nine unanswered runs to win the game, 13-7. Hunter Todd and Cole Phillips each had two hits for South Winn. Rodney Schwartzhoff and Phillips scored three runs apiece and Levi Lukes and Jackson Lukes both drove in three runs. The Warriors improve to 18-13 overall this season and they will conclude their regular season tonight at home against Saint Ansgar.

Playoff softball continues tonight with Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A holding Regional Semi-Final games. The New Hampton Chickasaw softball team will be on the road for a Class 3A Region 4 Semi-Final game at Center Point. The Chickasaws come in with a record of 25-14 which includes an 8-7 win over Center Point last Friday while their opponents come in at 26-10. You can tune into this game right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-game at about 6:45 and first pitch at for 7 pm.

The South Winneshiek Warrior softball team will take on Dyersville Beckman tonight on the road for a Class 2A Region 4 Semi-Final game. The Warriors come in at 17-15 on the season while Beckman is 29-11. First pitch will be at 7pm.

The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team will wrap-up their regular season tonight with a non-conference game at Clear Lake. The Chickasaws are 29-2 on the season while the Lions come in at 15-15.  First pitch will be around 7:30.
