The Bull Sports Report (6/29)

Mother Nature did quite a number on our area summer sports schedule as numerous local games were either postponed or cancelled last night. The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team had their non-conference game with Clayton Ridge cancelled. The Chickasaws will be in action tonight in non-conference action at home against Central Springs. You can tune into this game right here on 95-1 The Bull starting with a pre-game at 6:45 and the first pitch scheduled for 7.

The New Hampton Chickasaw softball team had their non-conference game at North Fayette Valley cancelled last night. The Chickasaws will wrap up their regular season this weekend with a two-day tournament on Don Bosco that will start tomorrow.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky baseball and softball teams had their games with Garner-Hayfield-Ventura cancelled. The Husky baseball team will next have a game tomorrow night and will look for their first win at home against West Fork. The Nashua softball team will also be trying to pick up their first win as well Friday night at home against West Fork.

The Turkey Valley Trojan baseball team was supposed to be in non-conference play against Crestwood last night, but that game was cancelled. The Trojan baseball team will have their next game on Monday at Riceville.

The South Winneshiek Warrior baseball team had both of their non-conference games rained out last night. They were to play a split double-header against Sumner-Fredericksburg and Waverly-Shell Rock at home. The game with Sumner-Fred was cancelled and they will make-up their game with Waverly tonight in Calmar. The Cougars will be in action tonight at Dike-New Hartford in North Iowa Cedar League play.

The South Winneshiek Warrior softball team had their Upper Iowa Conference double-header with MFL-Mar-Mac cancelled last night. The Warriors’ next game will be tonight at Kee High.

The only area game that did get played last night was the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball game at Aplington-Parkersburg. The Cougars were able to win their fourth game in a row as they beat the Falcons 6-1. Krayton Allen and Jadlin Seehase each had a home run. Seehase finished the night with three hits and four RBI and Allen had three runs scored. Jenna Pagel picked up the win inside the circle as she pitched the complete game, gave up four hits and struck out two. The Cougar softball team is now 14-14 overall this season and 10-7 in North Iowa Cedar League play. They will be in action again tonight at Dike-New Hartford.
