The New Hampton softball team hosted Oelwein last night for a showdown on the diamond. The Chickasaws would find themselves trailing after four innings, one to nothing. The New Hampton bats came to life in the fifth as they would drop ten runs on Oelwein. The Chickasaws would tack on one more run in the sixth to push the 10-run rule into play. New Hampton wins this game, 11 to one. Kaelyn Ambrose, Bailey Knowlton, and Maddi Moorman would all cross home plate two times. Kallie Olson would drive in two runs in the win. New Hampton will ride a five-game winning streak into their game against South Winneshiek tonight.

Turkey Valley baseball hosted Postville for a double header and these games wouldn’t be close. The Trojans would score four, five, and six runs in the first three innings as this game would only last four frames. Turkey Valley would win 15 to nothing. Wyatt Blazek had a home run and six RBIs in this game. Cale Reicks, Cody Hackman, and Evan Busta each had two RBIs in the game as well. Game two was more of the same for Turkey Valley. Thanks to some good pitching along with a seven run third and a five run fourth, the Trojans would pull out a 13 to nothing win. Hackman had another good game with three hits and four runs batted in. Mason Goerend filled his stat line with one hit, one run scored, one run batted in, and one stolen base. Turkey Valley is riding a four-game winning streak and will host Clayton Ridge/Central Monday.

Turkey Valley softball took on South Winneshiek on Thursday night for a doubleheader. Game one would be South Winneshiek’s as they would win 11 to eight. That win snapped the Warriors five-game losing streak. The next game would be more of the same for the Trojans as they struggled on the mound and would allow nine runs. South Winneshiek would go onto win this game, nine to five. The Warriors improve to 13 and seven on the season and will play at New Hampton tonight.
