Ambulance collides with deer while responding to crash

Fayette County, Iowa – An accident involving an ambulance and a deer collision in Fayette County caused approximately $3,000 in damage to the ambulance in a call it was responding to early Saturday morning.

Fayette County officials report that the accident, which occurred at the intersection of K Avenue and 90th Street in Fayette County for a reported roll-over, happened around 4:10a.m. The ambulance was responding to the scene of rolled-over SUV that landed in a ditch.  The SUV was driven by a 53-year-old Elgin woman.

The SUV is reported at a total loss. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department reported that charges are pending against the woman.

No one was injured in the ambulance with the collision of the deer.
