Osage woman pleads not guilty to stealing from mom

Osage, Iowa – An Osage woman has plead guilty of a lesser charge after she was accused of stealing her own mother’s money for gambling purposes.

58 year old Marilyn Spartz of Osage filed a guilty plea of third-degree theft.

Spartz has been accused of using over $2,000 of her mother’s money for gambling and other expenses. Spartz was accused of the theft after her mother’s medical bills were declined by an insurance company due to the cancellation of the policy because of non-payment of the policy.  According to court documents, Spartz had been responsible for paying for her mother’s expenses.

Spartz pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge and said she will pay her mother back the money she spent.
