951 The Bull Sports Report (2/10)

In a game heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw boys basketball team hosted Nashua-Plainfield in non-conference action.  The Chickasaws were able to dominate the game as they led it 49-16 at halftime and won by a final score of 66-36.  Zach Wemark led the Chickasaws with 14 points and Tristan Sweitzer had 10 for New Hampton who improve to 12-8 overall this season.  The Nashua boys were led by Dayton Hansen who finished with 10 points and the Chickasaws finish their regular season with a record of 6-15.  New Hampton’s boys will wrap-up their regular season tonight with a Northeast Iowa Conference road test at Waukon and the Husky boys will begin postseason play at home on Monday against Clarksville.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar boys basketball team was in Postville last night for their final regular season game.  The Cougars were beaten in a close one 48-45.  Sumner-Fred’s boys cap off their season with a record of 5-16 and will begin postseason play on Monday at home against South Winneshiek.

The New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team will begin postseason play tomorrow night as they get set to host North Fayette Valley in a Class 3A Region 5 Quarterfinal.  The Chickasaw girls went 14-7 during the regular season while the Tiger-Hawk girls come in at 12-8.  You can tune into this game right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-game at about 6:45 and tip-off will be at 7pm.

The New Hampton Chickasaw and North Fayette Valley District wrestling qualifiers will take part in the District Meet tomorrow in Decorah.  The Chickasaws will be sending Dylan Robinson at 106, Mason Cleveland at 113, Michael Millage at 126, Noah Fye at 132, Keaton Geerts at 138, Ryan Gorman at 160, Noah Glaser at 170 and Noah Hopp at 220 all to the tournament tomorrow.  Gunnar Rodgers at 120, Jordan Baumler at 220 and Ethan Lape at 285 will compete for North Fayette Valley.  You can tune into the District Meet tomorrow right here on 951 The Bull with coverage beginning at 11:30 and the first matches will begin at noon.

Brock Dietz and Jakob Whittinger of Nashua-Plainfield will represent the Huskies at tomorrow’s District Tournament in Lake Mills.  Dietz will wrestle at 106 pounds and Whittinger will be at 113.  Their Class 1A District Tournament will also begin at noon.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar and South Winneshiek Warrior wrestling teams will compete at their District Tournament at Starmont tomorrow.  The Cougars will have five wrestlers competing and South Winn will have ten.  Competing for Sumner-Fred will be Brett Meyer at 120, Karson Seehase at 160, Bodie Garnier at 183, Collyn Chipera at 195 and Brock Meyer at 220.  South Winn’s participants will be Felicity Taylor at 106, Gabe Sadler at 113, Logan Schnuelle at 126, Tayton Bullerman at 132, Jacob Ling at 138, Rodney Schwartzhoff at 145, Gabe Kipp at 170, Lane Schnuelle at 182, Manning Kubousek at 195 and Jackson Lukes at 285.  Their District Meet will also have a start time of noon.
