Greene teen critically hurt in accident near Waverly

Waverly, Iowa – A teen from Greene was critically injured when her vehicle collided with another near Waverly on Saturday.

According to the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the intersection with the Avenue of the Saints and Highway 3 at 1:46pm Saturday after a 2001 Saturn being operated by 17 year old Andrew Corwin of Greene failed to yield from the Highway 218 off ramp stop sign and was hit broadside by a 2015 GMC Acadia being drive by 36 year old Ashley Ross of Clarksville who was traveling westbound on Highway 3.

Corwin was airlifted to a Waterloo hospital and is listed in critical condition. Ross had minor injuries.

Deputies with the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office were assisted at the scene by the Waverly ambulance and fire department and Aircare.

The investigation into the crash continues.
