The Iowa High School Athletic Association held their Regional Dual Tournaments all over the State last night.  The top-ranked New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team hosted a Regional Dual that featured Osage, Algona and Clarion-Goldfield.  The Chickasaws were dominant in their two matches as they defeated Osage 64-16 and then beat Algona 76-0.  The New Hampton grapplers will now compete next Wednesday in the State Duals at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.  The Chickasaws will take on Denver in the first round at State which will be on mat number five at 9am.

The South Winneshiek Warrior wrestling team competed at Don Bosco last night for their Class 1A Regional Dual.  The Warriors lost their opening round match-up to North Linn-Troy Mills 51-30 which ended their team season, however South Winn will be sending ten individuals to the District Wrestling Tournament on Saturday in Starmont.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls basketball team hosted West Fork last night in their regular season finale.  The Huskies played a good game, but wound up on the losing end of a 59-46 score.  The Nashua girls finish their season with a 3-19 overall record and a 1-14 Top of Iowa Conference record.  Their next game will be on Saturday when they take on Waterloo Columbus in a Class 2A Region 5 opener.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky boys basketball team was also at home last night for a Top of Iowa Conference game against West Fork.  The Nashua boys were no match for the War-Hawks as they got beat 68-33.  The Husky boys fall to 6-14 overall and 4-11 in conference play.  They will have another game tomorrow in New Hampton.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team ended their regular season with an Upper Iowa Conference win at South Winneshiek last night.  The Trojan girls won the game 52-28 to finish their season with an 18-2 overall record and finished their conference season undefeated at 16-0.  The Warrior girls end up with a 2-19 overall record and a 2-13 conference record.  The Turkey Valley girls will now get ready for their Class 1A Regional Tournament and their first game will be next Tuesday at home while the Warrior girls will open up the Class 2A postseason on Saturday at Wapsie Valley.

The South Winneshiek Warrior boys basketball team defeated Turkey Valley in double overtime last night in Upper Iowa Conference play at home.  The final score was 82-78 and the Warrior boys finish their season with a 5-16 overall record and a 4-11 UIC record while the Trojan boys finish up at 13-8 and 11-5.  The South Winn boys will play at Sumner-Fredericksburg on Monday for their Class 2A District 4 opener and Turkey Valley will play next Thursday in Postville against Kee High in the Class 1A District 7 opening round.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar boys basketball team was at Union last night for a North Iowa Cedar League match-up.  The Cougars were on the losing end of a 67-43 score.  They fall to 5-15 overall and 3-14 in the NICL.  The Sumner-Fred boys will finish their regular season tomorrow night at Postville.
