NH School Bond Referendum Set For Tuesday

New Hampton, Iowa – Voters in the New Hampton School District will head to the polls on Tuesday to vote on a bond referendum for an addition to the high school. The building would be a school for 5th through 8th grade students.

Superintendent Jay Jurrens talks about the upcoming vote.

Jurrens said the plan that will be put to vote was decided on by a group of community members, parents, students and staff.

Jurrens talked about cost and what tax payers would expect if the vote goes through.

One final meeting regarding the referendum will be held on Thursday, February 2nd beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the middle school auditorium.

Jurrens talked about the importance of the vote.

Ballots can be cast now through 11 a.m. on February 7th at the Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office.

Polls will be open from noon – 8 p.m. on February 7th. The only polling place will be held at the Chickasaw Events Center, 301 North Water in New Hampton.
