In a couple of games heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw girls and boys basketball teams hosted Waverly-Shell Rock in a Northeast Iowa Conference Varsity double-header.  In the girls game, New Hampton had trouble getting scoring opportunities as they biggest quarter totaled only ten points.  The Chickasaw girls lost the game by a final score of 67-31.  Isabel Leichtman had ten points for New Hampton as the Chickasaw girls fall to 9-5 overall and 4-2 in NEIC play.  In the boys game, again it was all Go-Hawks as Waverly won by a final score of 70-39.  Mike Drewelow scored ten points to lead the New Hampton boys.  The Chickasaw boys are now 6-7 overall this season and they are 2-3 in the NEIC.  Both the New Hampton boys and girls teams will play against Charles City tomorrow night.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls basketball team hosted Hudson last night in a North Iowa Cedar League game.  The Cougar girls won in dominant fashion by a final score of 62-34.  The Cougar girls improve to 13-3 overall this season and they are now 12-2 in the NICL.  Sumner-Fred’s girls will be in action again tomorrow at home against Union-LaPorte City.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar boys basketball team was also at home last night taking on Hudson in North Iowa Cedar League action.  The Sumner boys fell to the Pirates 66-47.  The Cougar boys fall to 4-10 overall and 2-9 in the conference.  They will play again tomorrow night at home against Union.

The South Winneshiek Warrior boys basketball team was in Monona last night for an Upper Iowa Conference game against MFL-Mar-Mac.  After trailing by just four at the end of the first quarter, the Warriors fell out of reach and lost the game 66-39.  Levi Lukes led South Winn with nine points and Hunter Todd and Cole Klimesh each finished with seven.  The Warrior boys are now 4-11 overall and 2-7 in the UIC.  They will have their next game tomorrow against Central Elkader.

The South Winneshiek Warrior girls basketball team was overmatched last night in their Upper Iowa Conference game at MFL-Mar-Mac.  The Warrior girls lost the game 51-20 to fall to 2-13 overall this season and 2-7 in the conference.  The South Winn girls will host Central Elkader tomorrow night.
