951 The Bull Sports Report (1/19)

With no local sports on the schedule last night, we begin today’s report with a check of what is on the area winter sports calendar tonight.  The New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team will be at home tonight for a triangular meet with Decorah and Osage.  The Chickasaw grapplers come in with an overall dual meet record of 23-2 and they are 5-0 in Northeast Iowa Conference duals.  New Hampton will wrestle against Decorah first at 5:30 and then the Chickasaws will wrestle Osage at about 8pm.  You can tune into these matches right here on 951 The Bull starting with a premeet at about 5:15.

The North Butler Bearcat wrestling team will host a triangular meet tonight in Greene.  The Bearcats will host Nashua-Plainfield and Clarksville.  The first match is set to begin at 6pm.

The Turkey Valley Trojan wrestling team will take part in a triangular meet tonight hosted by MFL-Mar-Mac.  The Trojans will wrestle against MFL as well as Postville.  The first match of the triangular is scheduled to begin at 6pm.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar wrestling team will take on Edgewood-Colesburg tonight on the road in non-conference action.  This dual meet will begin at 6pm.

The South Winneshiek Warrior wrestling team will host an Upper Iowa Conference triangular meet tonight.  The Warriors will go up against Clayton Ridge and Starmont.  The first match will start at 6pm.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky girls and boys basketball teams will be on the road tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference double-header against Mason City Newman.  The Nashua girls come in with an overall record of 2-10 and they are 1-8 in the conference while the Knight girls are 6-7 and 5-5.  The Husky boys are 4-7 overall and 3-6 in conference play while the Newman boys are 7-5 and 6-4.  The girls game will tip-off at about 6:15 and the boys game will follow.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls and boys basketball teams will host Sumner-Fredericksburg tonight in a non-conference girl/boy double-header.  Both the Turkey Valley and Sumner-Fred girls are 11-2 overall this season.  The Trojan boys come in at 8-5 overall and the Cougar boys are 3-8.  The girls game will tip-off first at about 6:15 and the boys game will tip-off at around 7:30.

The South Winneshiek Warrior girls and boys basketball teams will be on the road tonight for a non-conference double-header at Waukon.  The Warrior girls are 2-10 overall this season while the Waukon girls are 5-7.  The South Winn boys come in at 4-9 while the Indian boys are 3-6.  The girls game will begin at about 6:15 and the boys game will follow.
