951 The Bull Sports Report (1/12)

With no local high school sports on the calendar last night, we begin today’s report with a look at the area teams that will be in action tonight.  The New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team will be on the road tonight for a quadrangular meet in Denver.  The Chickasaws will wrestle against the Cyclones, Wapsie Valley and Dike-New Hartford.  The New Hampton grapplers come in with an overall dual meet record of 20-2.  You can tune into these matches right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-meet at 5:45 and the first match will begin at 6pm.

The Nashua-Plainfield wrestling team will host a quadrangular meet tonight as they will welcome in Rockford, Saint Ansgar and Riceville.  The first matches will begin at 6pm.

The Turkey Valley Trojan wrestling team will be at home tonight for an Upper Iowa Conference triangular meet with Edgewood-Colesburg and Starmont.  The meet is set to start at 6pm.

The South Winneshiek Warrior wrestling team will also be in a Top of Iowa Triangular meet tonight.  The meet will be hosted by MFL-Mar-Mac and the Warriors will also wrestle against Central Elkader.  The first match of this meet will also begin at 6pm.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar wrestling team will be in North Iowa Cedar League action tonight.  The Cougars will wrestle against the host team Union-LaPorte City and Hudson.  Start time for this meet is also at 6pm.

The Osage Green Devil girls and boys basketball teams will host Nashua-Plainfield tonight in Top of Iowa Conference action.  The Osage girls will enter the game 6-3 overall and they are 5-2 in conference play.  The Nashua-Plainfield girls have an overall record of 2-8 and their conference record is 1-6.  The Osage boys are a perfect 10-0 this season with a conference record of 7-0 while the Husky boys are 3-6 and 2-5.  The girls game will tip-off first at about 6:15 and the boys game will follow.

The South Winneshiek Warrior girls and boys basketball teams will host Sumner-Fredericksburg tonight in a non-conference girl/boy double header.  The South Winn girls are 1-9 overall this season while the Cougar girls are 9-2.  The Warrior boys come in with an overall record of 3-8 while Sumner-Fred’s boys are 1-8.  The girls game will tip off at about 6:15 and the boys game will begin at about 7:30.
