Charles City Police Inviting Residents To Citizens Police Academy

Charles City, Iowa – An eight-week  Citizen’s Police Academy will be held beginning  Tuesday, January 17th at the NIACC Charles City Center.

Charles City Chief of Police Hugh Anderson explains.

Captain Brandon Franke will lead the academy and he talked about some of the topics that will be covered.

Chief Anderson said the intent of the academy is to educate people on the role of police officers, as well as use it as a tool for recruitment, either for reserve officers or those who are interested in becoming a police officer.

Anderson explained the role of a reserve officer.

The course starts on Tuesday, January 17, 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.  for eight weeks. The class is free and will include dinner from Pizza Ranch.
