With Crestwood cancelling school yesterday, the New Hampton Chickasaw boys and girls basketball teams had their games with the Cadets postponed last night.  Last night’s games have now been scheduled for Tuesday January 31st.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team was able to stay unbeaten last night as they defeated Edgewood-Colesburg at home in Upper Iowa Conference play.  Final score was 58-38.  The Trojan girls are now 10-0 overall and they improve to 8-0 in the UIC.  They will look to stay perfect on Friday night against North Fayette Valley.

The Turkey Valley Trojan boys basketball team was also at home last night taking on Edgewood-Colesburg in an Upper Iowa Conference contest.  Edgewood controlled the game and came away with a 62-43 win.  The Trojan boys fall to 7-4 overall this season and they are now 7-2 in conference play.  They will look to get back on track this Friday night against North Fayette Valley.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar boys basketball team was no match for Dike-New Hartford last night at home as they lost their North Iowa Cedar League match-up 74-25.  Freshman James Stimson led the Cougars with nine points as they fall to 0-7 on the year.  The Sumner-Fred boys will look to get in the win column tomorrow night at Grundy Center.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls basketball team was in a defensive battle last night as they hosted Dike-New Hartford in North Iowa Cedar League play.  The Cougars held the Wolverines to no more than seven points in each quarter and went on to win the game 30-12.  Ivy Hirsch, Becca Pagel and Jadlin Seehase all had six points to lead Sumner-Fred as they improved to 8-1 on the season.  The Cougar girls will be in action again tomorrow night at Grundy Center.
