CC man accused of rape pleads to lesser charge, gets probation

Charles City, Iowa – A Charles City man accused of raping a woman in Charles City has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge and received probation.

Court documents state that 31 year old Eric M. Hill received a deferred judgment for misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury where he was put on probation for one year and ordered to pay a $315 civil penalty.

Hill was also ordered to undergo a psychiatric sexual evaluation and follow any recommendations for sex offender treatment or counseling.

Hill was arrested in February 2016 and charged with felony second-degree sexual abuse, which is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
