951 The Bull Sports Report (12/20)

The New Hampton Chickasaw boys basketball team was in non-conference action last night on the road at North Fayette Valley.  The Chickasaws dominated the game and came away with a 73-44 win.  The Chickasaw boys are now 2-3 overall and they’ll be back in action tonight.  The New Hampton boys will travel to Charles City looking to give the Comets their first loss of the season.  You can tune into this Northeast Iowa Conference match-up right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-game at about 7:30 and tip-off will be at about 7:45.

The New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team was also in non-conference road action last night as they traveled to Independence to take on the Mustangs.  The Chickasaws won in dominant fashion last night by a final score of 60-35 to improve to 5-2 overall this year.  The Chickasaw girls will play in non-conference action again tonight as they will take on Mabel-Canton at Luther College in Decorah.  Tip-off is will be at 6pm.

The South Winneshiek Warrior boys basketball team took on Mable-Canton last night at Luther College in Decorah.  The Warrior boys were able to come away with a 53-50 win.  Levi Lukes had 15 points to lead South Winn and Joel Hanson added 14.  The Warrior boys improve to 2-4 overall this season and they will be back in action tonight at home against Postville.

Other events for our local sports teams tonight include: the New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team will travel to Humboldt tonight for a quadrangular meet.  The Chickasaws will wrestle against Alta-Aurelia at 6pm.  They will then wrestle against Humboldt and then finish the night with a dual against Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.  The Chickasaw wrestlers come in with a dual meet record of 10-2.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls and boys basketball teams will host North Butler tonight in a Top of Iowa Conference double-header.  The Nashua girls are 1-6 overall this season and they are 1-4 in the conference while the Bearcat girls are 2-4 and 2-3.  The Husky boys come into their match-up with a 2-4 overall record and they are 2-3 in conference play while North Butler’s boys have identical 2-4 and 2-3 records.  The girls game will be played first and tip-off right around 6:15 and the boys game will follow.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls and boys basketball teams will be in Upper Iowa Conference action tonight as they will travel to Monona to take on MFL-Mar-Mac.  The Trojan girls come into the game undefeated at 7-0 overall and they are 5-0 in conference play while MFL-Mar-Mac is 3-3 and 2-3.  The Turkey Valley boys are 6-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference and MFL comes in at 3-2 and 3-1.  The girls game will tip-off at about 6:15 and the boys game will tip-off at about 7:30.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls and boys basketball teams will host Aplington-Parkersburg tonight in a North Iowa Cedar League double-header.  The Sumner-Fred girls will enter the game with an overall record of 6-1 and they are 5-1 in the NICL while the Falcon girls are 3-1 overall and in conference play.  The Cougar boys come in looking for their first win as they are 0-4 both overall and in conference play while the A-P boys are 2-1 overall and in conference play.  The girls game will be played first and tip-off around 6:15 and the boys game will follow.
