951 The Bull Sports Report (12/14)

In a game heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team was at Waverly for a Northeast Iowa Conference match-up with the Go-Hawks.  The Chickasaws suffered their first NEIC loss of the season as they were defeated by Waverly 57-36.  The New Hampton girls are now 4-2 overall this season and they are 1-1 in the conference.  The Chickasaw girls will be in action again this Friday at Decorah.

The New Hampton Chickasaw boys basketball team’s Northeast Iowa Conference game against Waverly last night was also heard right here on 951 The Bull.  Waverly was able to complete the double header sweep as they defeated the New Hampton boys 71-45.  Jake Zwanziger led the Chickasaws as he finished with 15 points off the bench and Keegan John finished the night with nine points and seven rebounds.  The New Hampton boys basketball team is now 1-3 overall this season and they begin their NEIC schedule at 0-1.  The Chickasaw boys will host Decorah on Friday for their next game.

The Turkey Valley boys basketball team was in an Upper Iowa Conference match-up with Kee High last night at home.  The Trojans were able to come away with the victory by a final score of 65-52.  The Turkey Valley boys improve to 5-2 overall this season and they are now 5-0 in conference games.  The Trojan boys will be in action again tomorrow night at home against Tripoli.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team was able to remain undefeated as they beat Kee High last night in a Top of Iowa Conference game at home last night.  The Trojan girls dominated the game and won by a final score of 63-35.  Turkey Valley’s girls are now 6-0 overall this season and they improve to 5-0 in league play.  They will look to stay perfect tomorrow night at home against Tripoli.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls basketball team was big winners over Hudson last night in North Iowa Cedar League action as they won on the road 63-36. The Cougar girls improve to 6-1 overall on the season and they are now 5-1 in the conference.  Next up for the Sumner-Fred girls will be a road test at Grundy Center.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar boys basketball team was overmatched last night in their North Iowa Cedar League game at Hudson.  The Cougars lost the game 76-32 to fall to 0-4 on the season.  Sumner-Fred’s boys are also 0-4 in NICL play.  The Cougar boys will be looking for that first win of the season on Friday night at Grundy Center.

The South Winneshiek Warrior boys basketball team hosted Edgewood-Colesburg last night in an Upper Iowa Conference contest.  The Warriors lost by a final score of 54-44.  The Warriors are now 1-4 overall this season and they drop to 1-3 in conference play.  They’ll be in action again Friday at Kee High.

The South Winneshiek Warrior girls basketball team was unable to get that first victory of the season last night as they were defeated by Edgewood-Colesburg at home in Upper Iowa Conference play 58-53.  The Warrior girls fall to 0-5 overall and they are 0-4 in conference games.  South Winn’s girls will be looking for that first win on Friday night at Kee High.
