Candy Cane Hunt Coming To Charles City

Charles City, Iowa – A community candy cane hunt will take place on Friday, December 9th beginning at 6 p.m. in Central Park, downtown Charles City.

The event, sponsored by Charles City Hy-Vee and KCHA, is a new addition to the Christmas line-up for kids.

Organizer Ryan Parker talks about how the idea evolved.

Children ages 12 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult, will be able to hunt for candy canes that will be scattered throughout Central Park. Parker said the park will be divided by age categories.

Free hot chocolate will be provided and the Santa house will be open after the candy cane hunt for children to visit Santa.
