New Hampton, Iowa – The New Hampton Lions Club is once again assisting New Hampton 8th grade students with funding for a spring trip to Washington DC.

Middle School Social Studies teacher Jason Rude talks about a fundraiser the students are holding, thanks in large part to the New Hampton Lions Club.

Students are in the midst of selling raffle tickets which will help fund the trip to DC.

Rude said there are lots of prizes on the raffle, which have been donated by both local businesses and in-kind donations from out of town.

Rude said they are very thankful for all the donations and encourages area residents to talk to the New Hampton students about their upcoming spring trip.

Students will be selling the tickets through winter break and the drawing of the winners will be held the second week of January.
