951 The Bull Sports Report (11/1)

In a match heard here on our sister station 959 KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet volleyball team hosted Waterloo East in the Class 4A Region 5 Finals.  The Comets took game one 25-15, East won game two 27-25, Charles City was then able to win game three 25-11 and game four 25-19 to take the match 3 games to one and advance to State.  Kelsi Crooks led the Comets with 16 kills, Jodie Sindlinger had ten kills, Sydney Loeckle had 38 assists, Katie Foster had 23 digs and Sara Martin was a perfect 21 of 21 serving with an ace.  Charles City volleyball improves to 37-5 overall this season and their first match down at State will be next Tuesday night against Bishop Heelan.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar volleyball team will take on West Branch tonight in the Class 2A Region 7 Finals in Center Point.  The Cougars come into tonight’s match ranked third in Class 2A and are 32-5 this season.  West Branch comes in with a record of 21-15.  The Cougars defeated West Branch two games to none in their only meeting this season which was on October 8th in the Cedar Rapids tournament.  First serve for this Regional Final will be at 7pm.
