951 The Bull Sports Report (10/20)

In a match heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw volleyball team hosted Cresco in a Class 3A Region 6 Quarterfinal.  The Chickasaws were able to beat the Cadets for the fourth time this year as they won three games to none by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-16.  Kaelyn Ambrose and Emma Nicoliasen each had nine kills to lead the New Hampton offense, Mya Anderson distributed nine assists and as a team the Chickasaws went 68-73 serving with six aces.  New Hampton volleyball improves to 28-10 overall this season and they will travel to Osage on Tuesday night for their Regional Semifinal.

The North Fayette Valley Tiger-Hawk volleyball team hosted Waukon last night in a Class 3A Region 6 Quarterfinal.  The Tiger-Hawks won the first game 25-15, dropped the second game 25-20 and then won 25-17 and 25-9 to win the match three games to one.  North Fayette improves to 20-14 overall this season and they will be in Manchester on Tuesday to take on West Delaware in the Semifinals.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union will host State Qualifying meets all over Iowa tonight.  The New Hampton Chickasaw, Sumner-Fredericksburg, South Winneshiek and North Fayette Valley boys and girls cross country teams will compete in a Class 2A meet hosted by Garner-Hayfield-Ventura.  The meet will begin with the girls race at 4pm with the boys race to follow.

The Nashua-Plainfield boys and girls cross country teams will participate in their Class 1A State Qualifying Meet today in Cedar Falls.  The girls race will be first and will begin at 3pm.
