951 The Bull Sports Report (10/10)

In a game heard right here on 951 The Bull Friday night the New Hampton Chickasaw football team was in a Class 2A District 2 contest at Osage.  The Chickasaws were operating on all cylinders as they were able to rebound from last week’s loss with a 50-14 win.  The eighth-ranked Chickasaw rushing attack gained over 250 rushing yards with senior Keaton Geerts leading the way.  Geerts finished the night with 163 yards on the ground and three touchdowns, Josh Fenske had two rushing scores and Drew Boeding had a two yard touchdown on the ground.  Quarterback Carter Stochl threw for 129 yards which included a 16-yard TD pass to Ryan Gorman.  Friday night’s win gives New Hampton football an overall record of 6-1 and they are now 4-1 in District play.  The Chickasaws will be on the road this Friday night at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky football team had their third game in eight days on Friday night and it looked like fatigue was a factor against Grundy Center in a Class A District 3 match up at Grundy Center.  Nashua finished the night with just 145 yards of total offense and they committed five turnovers which resulted in a 54-0 defeat.  Nashua football falls to 3-4 overall this season and they drop to 2-3 in the District.  Next up for the Huskies will be a home meeting with Mason City Newman Catholic this Friday night.

The third-ranked Turkey Valley Trojan football team was able to stay unbeaten on Friday night as they took down Northwood-Kensett 52-27.  The Trojan offense was led by senior quarterback Cody Hackman who ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns and also threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Walker Leibold and had a 12-yard TD pass to Cale Reicks.  Wyatt Blazek rushed for 120 yards and two scores and also had a 32-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.  The Turkey Valley football team is now 7-0 overall this season and they are 4-0 in 8-man District 2.  The Trojans would clinch a playoff berth this Friday if they can get a win at Clarksville.

The South Winneshiek football team was able to get a Class 1A District 2 win at home over Sumner-Fredericksburg on Friday night at home 40-6.  Rodney Schwartzhoff continues his incredible season with 319 rushing yards on Friday night with five touchdowns.  Sophomore Cole Klimesh had the other touchdown for the Warriors as he returned an interception 26 yards for a touchdown.  The South Winn football team is now 5-2 overall this season and move to 4-1 in the District while Sumner-Fred drops to 2-5 and 2-3.  The Warriors will be at Lake Mills this Friday night and the Cougars will be at home against MFL-Mar-Mac.

The North Fayette Valley received a win on Friday night as Waterloo Columbus had to forfeit their Class 2A District 4 game.  The top-ranked Tiger-Hawks are now 7-0 overall on the season and they are 5-0 in the District.  They will look to stay unbeaten this Friday night at home in a number 1 vs. number 2 match-up against Union-LaPorte City.
